Against the backdrop of increasingly fierce competition in the new energy heavy-duty truck market, which is marked by widespread price wars, Liang Linhe stated: "A true industry leader does not rely on short-term sales surges, but builds a competitive moat through technological accumulation and strategic resolve."

At the recently concluded High-Level Forum on Intelligent Electric Vehicle Development (2026), Liang Linhe once again emphasized that Sany Heavy Truck will not engage in low-price competition. Even though this meant giving up the 2025 new energy heavy-duty truck sales championship, Liang Linhe showed no concern. He frankly admitted: "If we really go all out on price, I believe no one in this industry can outcompete me."

         Liang Linhe revealed that Sany Heavy Truck independently develops and manufactures all core components of its "three electric" systems (battery, motor, electronic control), transmissions, and electric drive axles, keeping costs at a relatively low level in the industry.

"Even if we cut prices by another 20,000 yuan per unit, Sany Heavy Truck would still remain profitable for the whole year, while many competitors have long been operating at a loss. If Sany fully engages in the price war, it will only lead to a vicious cycle of low prices, low costs, low profits, and low investment. Companies will be unable to invest in R&D, and the entire industry will head toward 'desertification.'"

         It is understood that in the face of market fluctuations, Sany Heavy Truck does not blindly follow price cuts or expansion. Instead, it continues to invest resources in technological R&D and deepening the industrial chain: over the past three years, R&D investment has exceeded 10% of revenue, building a full-stack self-developed system covering batteries, motors, and electronic controls. At the same time, Sany Heavy Truck has partnered with CATL to develop dedicated power batteries for heavy trucks and collaborated with Horizon Robotics to tackle intelligent driving chips, establishing a stable supply chain ecosystem. This "slow is fast" strategy has allowed Sany Heavy Truck to gain a firm foothold in the electrification wave and lay the foundation for the arrival of the autonomous driving era.


         Liang Linhe said: "Temporary retreat is also a strategy. Adhering to long-termism does not mean not competing, but rather not participating in the current chaotic price war. Three years from now, customers will choose Sany more, and the possibility of returning to the top position then is very high."

       Over its eight-year history, Sany Heavy Truck has come a long way: in its first four years, it mastered truck manufacturing, once setting a sales record of selling 500 heavy trucks in just 53 seconds through its internet-based sales model. In its second four years, facing the new energy wave, Sany Heavy Truck decisively transformed even as its fuel truck business hit record highs, enduring operational losses to master new energy truck manufacturing and achieve sales exceeding 10 billion yuan.

Now, as the new energy heavy truck trend intensifies, what will Sany Heavy Truck choose for its next four years? Liang Linhe’s answer is to build autonomous electric heavy trucks.


      In Liang Linhe’s view, at this super technological window where the Fourth Industrial Revolution overlaps with the Third Energy Revolution, electrification and intelligence will advance hand in hand, and autonomous electric heavy trucks will become the next industry frontier.
